According to the Covid-19 vaccine distribution schedule of the Vietnam authorities, from the end of July 2021, Gemadept Corporation (Gemadept) has coordinated with medical units to quickly deploy the vaccination to ensure the safety and health for all employees and to maintain the production and business activities of the company as well as to maintain the supply chain and cargo flow serving the people of the country during the pandemic.
In each area, the vaccination complies with the number and schedule of the local authorities’ vaccine distribution and vaccination usually takes place at hospitals and vaccination zones according to regulations. Gemadept Covid-19 Prevention and Control Committee proactively and flexibly has smoothly coordinated with local authorities to maintain security and to ensure social distancing as well as instruct staffs to do online medical declaration by QR code. Gemadept has strictly complied with the pandemic prevention regulations and 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health.
For the Gemadept office departments in Ho Chi Minh City, the Company has organized vaccination for nearly 500 staffs. The remaining cases that have not been vaccinated (mostly in isolation areas) will be vaccinated in the next batches. For staffs at sites , Phuoc Long ICD Port has completed injection of the 1st dose for 3 on-the-spot employees, ensuring production safety. At Gemadept Can Tho, the Company also completed the 1st dose vaccination for employees.
In the areas of Binh Duong and Dong Nai, 400 employees have been vaccinated on August 14th. On August 14th and 16th, 2021 the Management Board of Gemalink Port has coordinated with the local CDC to organize vaccination for all employees. This is good news for Gemalink Port, the leading deep-sea port in Vietnam and in the region, serving millions of import and export containers, directly connecting to Europe and the US.
As well as in Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces, where suffer the most severe Covid-19's consequences, Gemadept, at the same time, coordinated with the local authorities across Vietnam to deploy vaccination for employees. In the Central area, Dung Quat Port has vaccinated the first dose for all port’s employees. As for the key Northern ports, the Company is continuing to coordinate with the authorities to soon deploy vaccination for employees at Gemadept's ports.
As of mid-August 2021, Gemadept has confronted against Covid-19 by vaccinating 2,200 employees. Besides, the Company has coordinated with hospitals to prepare logistics for vaccination locations as well as post-vaccination care in accordance with the correct procedure to ensure safety. Common post-vaccination syndromes are injection spot pain, body fatigue, mild fever, etc. Up to now, the health of all vaccinated employees is stable, and their work efficiency is ensured.
As the Vietnam leading enterprise in port operation and logistics which are the back-bone of the economy, Gemadept determines that the prevention of Covid-19 is a vital and urgent mission. Vaccinating for all employees is the top priority goal supporting the whole country to soon achieve herd immunity to stabilize and develop the economy.
