Gemadept, the leading port and logistics company in Vietnam, is honored to be selected by CFA students as the Subject Company for The CFA Institute Research Challenge 2021-2022 season. On September 29, 2021, CFA Academy and Gemadept successfully organized the "Meeting with Subject Company" with all CFA students participating in this year's program across the country.
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global investment analysis competition organized by the CFA Institute. This competition creates a useful and exciting playground for a large number of students majoring in economics, finance, banking… of famous universities. In this competition, each team prepares an in-depth analysis report on a leading publicly traded company and then present their findings to a panel of judges who are investment experts, stock analysts and fund managers.
The competition will take place continuously in 3 months, including analysis activities on the subject company, each team under supervision of an analyst (so called mentor), prepare a written analysis report, and then present the report to the panel of judges. Regional and global finals will be organized by CFA Academy. Winners at the local level advance to compete against teams within their geographic region at the sub-regional level. After 10 years of organizing the CFA Institute Research Challenge in Vietnam, the subject companies have always been typical enterprises for the Vietnamese economy in general and represent industries with leading roles and potential development in particular. This year, Gemadept which is a leading port operation and logistics company in Vietnam, is honored to be selected by CFA students as The Subject Company for the 2021-2022 season. On September 29, 2021, CFA Academy and Gemadept held the ‘Meeting with Subject Company’ via online with the participation of the Chief Representative and Organizing Committee of CFA Academy, CFA Vietnam Community, representatives of Gemadept’s Board of Management and functional departments, especially with the participation of nearly 100 students from 19 prestigious universities nationwide.
In the 11th year, The CFA Institute Research Challenge was held, Gemadept has become the 1st representative of the Port & Logistics industry in Vietnam. As for the company, it’s the great honor and responsibilities. In the Subject Company Meeting, Gemadept representatives have answered many crucial questions about Gemadept's strategy, growth potential and business activities from competition teams. The Board of Management shared with the students and professional investors about the fields of operation, the company’s vision for 2021-2025, upcoming projects and the development orientations which emphasized on Green, Digitalization and Sustainable developments.
